Well the time has come for me to go public with the most exciting news of my life. We are having a baby!!! I am 3 months along now, and Eric and I are over the moon with joy. The official due date is August 3rd. We found out Thanksgiving weekend, and shared the news with family over Christmas. I must say, the charade of keeping it quiet until now has been exhausting! First there was the fake drinking. Luckily I have some pretty good coaches (Nikki and Leslie) who unknowingly spilled all their best secrets on how to do it like a pro. I will just say that the holidays were a tough time to have to fake (maybe a dozen social situations)! Then there was the pretending I had just as much energy as before and like my stomach wasn't on fire with heartburn the past 3 months. As if it's not tough enough to pull that off without a hitch, it's hard not to slip when you are BURSTING with excitement and anticipation (and nervousness)! It's been a real test of patience, that's for sure! But totally worth every second.
It's hard not to feel like Eric and I really have it all right now. I could not feel luckier. He's been adorable about making sure this mama gets all her milk each day and he's been a perfect gentleman holding onto me in the snow and on slick footing. He's indulged nearly all of my cravings, even though that means pizza 3 times a week. We both cried when we heard the heartbeat and saw the baby up on that screen. I had no idea how magical it would all be. Those little black and white dots are the only physical proof (before the baby bump comes) that there is a life in there! Speaking of the black and white dots, here they are at 12 weeks! Baby Morse was very stubborn and would not give a good profile shot so the top two are the best and the bottom two are basically baby with the back to the camera.
